Is it possible to become an entrepreneur during a lockdown?
Closed

Nowadays, starting your own business requires nothing but a "phone, laptop and the internet," according to 20-year-old entrepreneur, Ben Gulliver.

After being furloughed from his job as a manager at a hair studio, Gulliver turned to his inner-entrepreneurial spirit and has since been making up to £12,000 per day during the pandemic and encourages others not to give up on something they're passionate about and believe in.

The 20-year-old individual decided to sell much-needed and sought-after products that people needed in lockdown - it included everything from teeth-cleaning devices for when dentists were closed to gym equipment when restrictions further impacted people's fitness levels.

He decided that going it alone was the best way to ensure his financial security and freedom and when thinking about his business venture's direction, he thought: 'what products are good to sell? A product that solves a problem'."

However, his business-driven mindset dates back to when he was just a schoolboy as he would "buy lollipops for 15p and sell them for £1," Gulliver said. Little did he know at the age of 22, he'd be selling the first business he created to an American investor for an undisclosed six-figure sum.

What do you think about this news? Did you decide to start your own business during the lockdown?

Would you say his success is due to luck or purely hard work?

Very possible, as one has to resort to online and see what you can do with your skills instead of working at a workplace remote is the way to go under lockdown
